Russia is not capable of fighting as a state – historian Alfyorov
Historian and officer with Ukraine's 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, Oleksandr Alfyorov, explained that Russia has never won a war lasting more than a year without allies
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"I believe Russia is not capable of fighting as a state. It’s a sprinter state when it comes to war. It relies on quick offensives, trying to seize as much territory as fast as possible. But mass numbers don’t make universal soldiers, and in this system, the individual soldier doesn’t matter. This is a system built on cannon fodder. Its entire strategy is to 'throw everything at the enemy.' Russia simply isn’t built for long-term warfare," Alfyorov explained.
According to the historian, Russia cannot sustain prolonged warfare without allies. Throughout its history, it has never won a war alone.
"Every war where it dragged on for more than two years is proof of this. After the so-called 'three-day capture of Kyiv,' the Russians had to ask Iran for weapons. Then they started receiving aid from North Korea. They claim they can fight, but their logistics and lack of corporate ethics are so dysfunctional that they end up abandoning parts of their own army. Every war where Russia held out for a year to a year and a half without allies — it lost. A clear example is Lend-Lease, which they practically begged for, and the second front that was opened in World War II," he added.
