Russia intensifies assaults, overwhelms Ukrainian defenses on Lyman axis — 60th Brigade
On the Lyman axis, the situation remains stably tense—Russian forces are assaulting the positions of the Defense Forces in small groups and are massively using strike drones to hit targets
Maksym Bilousov, head of the communications department of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, stated this on Espreso TV.
"Our situation remains consistently difficult because the enemy is constantly overloading everything possible. Just as they try to overload our air defense, they are overloading all our means of defense with the sheer quantity of everything they have," Bilousov emphasized.
According to the head of the communications department of the 60th Brigade, on the Lyman axis, the Russian army is acting en masse: groups are accumulating and then proceed to directly assault the firing positions of the Defense Forces. If the enemy identifies a target that can be hit, they attack it not with a single means, but use several at once, including strike drones. The occupiers direct a large number of drones to completely destroy the target.
"The situation at the moment is that in our area of responsibility, the enemy is advancing, and we are holding back their offensive. I cannot confirm that we are counterattacking specifically in our area of responsibility at this time," Bilousov noted.
During the day on July 23, there were 172 combat engagements recorded along the Russian-Ukrainian front. On the Pokrovsk axis, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 61 assault actions by the aggressor.
