Russia focuses on shelling frontline energy infrastructure - Ukraine's Energy Ministry

Occupying Russian soldiers have targeted the energy infrastructure in Ukraine's frontline areas, says Yaroslav Demchenkov, deputy head of Ukraine's Energy Ministry

Demchenkov shared the information on the United News telethon.

"In this heating season, we've witnessed a lack of massive attacks on energy infrastructure overall. The focus has been primarily on the frontline regions," he stated.

Demchenkov highlighted the destruction of both generation and distribution facilities, along with impacts on coal mines and the gas supply system in these areas.

Addressing the increased preparedness, Demchenkov emphasized Ukraine's experience in dealing with significant Russian strikes during the previous heating season.

The Ministry of Energy is actively assessing the consequences of attacks, including economic losses for energy companies.

Demchenkov mentioned the establishment of a special working group to expedite the implementation of energy equipment needs for companies.
