'Putin wants pause, not peace': experts say Russia is faking diplomacy
The Center for Strategic Communications (SPRAVDI) believes that Russia is simulating diplomacy in order to avoid sanctions and continue the war against Ukraine
The Center for Strategic Communications wrote this on Telegram.
According to SPRAVDI, the Kremlin isn’t seeking peace but rather trying to buy time to continue its aggression. To do this, the Russian authorities are “imitating diplomacy.”
"Despite diplomatic efforts by Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe, Russia continues attacks on the front lines and air terror against civilians. Putin’s current goal is a temporary 'freezing of the conflict' without guarantees for Ukraine — to ease sanctions and regroup for a new offensive," the statement says.
The Center for Strategic Communications stressed that the only path to peace is strengthening Ukraine on the battlefield and ramping up sanctions against Russia. That’s what will force the Kremlin to end the war.
- U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham says he has backing from 72 colleagues for a bill imposing tough new sanctions on Russia—and tariffs on countries buying its oil and gas—unless Putin agrees to serious peace talks on Ukraine.
