Russia fails to stabilize troop command: military expert on Ukraine’s Kursk operation
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi has noted that the Kursk operation continues to deliver strategic results
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in the Kursk region is ongoing, yielding significant strategic outcomes. Ukrainian troops are continuing to advance into Russian territory, even after three weeks of sustained offensive operations. Meanwhile, Russian forces have struggled to stabilize their command for various reasons.
Just yesterday, on August 29, a spokesperson for the Kharkiv operational and tactical group of troops reported that Russia's BARS units - a type of army reserve similar to Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces - were sent to the Kharkiv region in an attempt to divert Ukrainian forces," Kyrychevskyi explained.
According to him, Ukraine might encounter a strategic paradox where the Russians will need to intensify their efforts in other areas to divert Ukrainian forces from the fight in the Kursk sector.
"The key point is that the Kursk operation is ongoing and continues to deliver strategic results. If we face a shortfall in range, we can offset it by advancing deeper into enemy territory," the military expert concluded.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the military operation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Russia's Kursk region thwarted the Russian army's plans to occupy Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
