Russian forces struggle to seize Vilne Pole, Donetsk region, for over two months — Ukraine's 31st Brigade
Yevhenii, serviceman with the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade, says that Russian forces are conducting active combat operations for Vilne Pole in the Donetsk region, using armored vehicles and motorcycles
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Vіlne Pole in the Donetsk region has been under attack for more than two months. The Russians constantly send several units to capture this settlement and attack from multiple directions. Russian troops have also changed tactics, shifting from using armored vehicles to motorcycle groups. Now they are attacking with infantry groups, which are increasingly smaller. Accordingly, the Russians need to show some results and success," Yevhenii said.
The serviceman noted that there are cases when Russian troops break into the settlement, but the Defense Forces immediately eliminate them.
“Russia is now using a tactic of infiltration, and unfortunately, the weather somewhat helps them with this. The Russians also try to apply pressure around the clock, not only during the day but also at night. So sometimes, Russian forces manage to break into the settlement. However, as everyone saw in the video, that was their brief moment of success before they were destroyed by the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” he added.
- On May 20, the 128th Brigade denied Russian video claims that the invaders had supposedly captured the settlement of Vilne Pole in the Donetsk region.
