Russian forces prioritize Kupyansk sector offensive, seeking foothold in Kruhliakivka
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander with Ukraine's 92nd Separate Assault Brigade's Achilles UAV Battalion, says that the Ukrainian army has managed to halt Russian forces, but it is too early to talk about stabilizing the situation
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The Kupyansk direction is one of the priorities for the Russian army. As a result, a sufficient amount of assets has been accumulated, including artillery, rocket artillery, UAV groups, manpower, as well as lightly armored and armored vehicles. Russia planned to fully seize the left-bank part of Kupyansk by the beginning of this month, but failed to realize this intention," noted Fedorenko.
According to the commander of the Achilles UAV Battalion, the Russian army is trying to gain a foothold in Kruhliakivka, located in the left-bank Kupyansk district near the Oskil River.
"Its goal is to fully seize this foothold and try to expand in the directions of Borova and Kolesnykivka, moving towards Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. At the moment, thanks to heavy round-the-clock fighting, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have managed to stop the enemy, but it is premature to talk about stabilizing the situation. Will Russia succeed in reaching Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi in the short term and fully seize the left bank bridgehead? In my opinion, no," emphasized Fedorenko.
