Russia attacks Ukraine with Shahed drones, killing 4 people in Dnipro

On the evening of March 28, the Russian army launched strike UAVs on Ukraine. The attack caused fires in a restaurant complex and a high-rise in Dnipro, killing 4 and injuring others

Attack on Dnipro

At 9:16 p.m., the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported Russian UAVs over the region, when at 9:44 p.m. explosions were reported in Dnipro.

“The UAV attack caused several fires. Preliminary, there is damage in the residential sector. All information is being clarified,” Lysak wrote.

At 10:34 p.m. it became known about four wounded who were taken to the hospital. Lysak said that the Russian strike caused a fire in a restaurant complex, a high-rise building and private houses also caught fire. Rescuers are currently working in the city.

He later added that one person was killed in the attack. 

“Six more people were injured. Among them is a 27-year-old pregnant woman. She has a stab wound. Two of the wounded are in serious condition. They are 69-year-old men and women,” Lysak wrote. 

At 11:45 p.m., the head of the Regional Military Administration said that the death toll in Dnipro had risen to 4. 

“According to the information we have now, there are 4 dead in Dnipro. The number of people injured is increasing. At the moment, there are 15 of them. Three of them are in serious condition. Four locals will recover from their experiences at home. The rest remain in the hospital. It is also known that the enemy sent more than two dozen drones to the city. Most of them were shot down,” Lysak wrote. 

By the morning of March 29, the number of casualties had risen to 21.

Several high-rise buildings in the city were damaged, fires broke out in nearly 10 private homes, and garages and service stations caught fire. At the same time, emergency workers localized the fire in a hotel and restaurant complex. 

As of 7:30 a.m., 13 injured persons remained in hospitals.

The fires that arose as a result of the attack were extinguished. In particular, the fire was extinguished on the territory of the restaurant complex. 

Consequences of Russian attack in Kyiv region 

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, a private house in one of the garden associations in Vyshhorod district was damaged by the fall of the fragments of the downed targets. 

“There were no civilian casualties. No interference with critical infrastructure was allowed,” the statement said.
