Russian drones attack Ukraine, causing casualties and damage across country

On the evening of Friday, April 11, the Russian army launched attack drones into Ukraine. There are wounded civilians as a result of the strike on Kyiv and Kharkiv

Attack on Kharkiv

At 4:07 a.m., the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that two explosions had occurred in Kharkiv. A minute later, he wrote about another explosion. 

“We have three strikes on Kharkiv by Shahed UAVs, two of them in the Nemyshlianskyi district,” Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said. 

In the morning, the regional prosecutor's office clarified that the UAVs attacked an enterprise in the Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv. A 57-year-old security guard was wounded.

Damage in Kyiv region

At 4:50 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration wrote about air defense operations in the region. In the morning, officials reported that Russia had attacked the Kyiv region with UAVs at night. Air defense forces were working in the region. Russian targets were shot down.

There are no casualties among the population.

At the same time, 9 private houses, outbuildings and two cars were damaged in Boryspil district. Windows were smashed, facades and roofs were cut. One of the houses was partially destroyed. In Bucha district, warehouses were damaged. 

Attack on Kyiv

At 4:25 a.m., the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, wrote: “It's loud in the capital. Stay in shelters”. 

Five minutes later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense was operating in the capital. Later, he noted that there was a preliminary report of a fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district — non-residential premises were on fire. In Darnytskyi, a private house is on fire. 

Klitschko also reported another fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district as a result of falling debris.

At 5:05 a.m., the mayor of Kyiv wrote that one person was injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district. In Darnytskyi district, a private house was destroyed as a result of the fall of UAV debris.

A few minutes later, information appeared about another casualty. 

In the morning, the State Emergency Service reported that rescuers were eliminating the consequences of the attack in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv.  At one of the addresses, a fire broke out in a one-story warehouse building on an area of 1,500 square meters, and the fire has already been localized.

At the other address, a fire broke out in two warehouse buildings of 1,000 and 150 square meters with partial destruction on the territory of an industrial enterprise. The fire was later localized.

According to the State Emergency Service, 2 people were injured in the attack.

As of 8:54 a.m., Vitali Klitschko reported that the number of injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital had increased to three. 

“One was hospitalized, two were treated on the spot,” said Klitschko.

Consequences of Sumy shelling

According to the Sumy City Council, the city was hit by Russian UAVs last night. 

As a result of the hit, warehouses and cars of one of the enterprises were damaged.

“No one was injured or killed. The relevant services are working at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the attack,” the statement said.

Drones attack Dnipropetrovsk region

At 11:25 p.m., the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, informed that a private house in Pavlohrad district caught fire as a result of a UAV attack.

In Dnipro, drones also damaged the roof, facade, and windows of a private home.

According to preliminary data, no injuries were reported.
