Russia attacks Donetsk region: 5 people killed, several wounded
On the afternoon of July 18, the occupying Russian army attacked the Donetsk region with weapons of various calibers, resulting in the deaths of 5 civilians and injuries to 3 others
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the information.
An elderly couple in the village of Pleshchiivka were among those killed in the attack by the Russian forces.
"On the morning of July 18, Russian forces conducted artillery shelling on Pleshchiivka village, Kramatorsk district. An 85-year-old man died when a residential building was hit. Despite efforts to save his wife, she passed away while receiving emergency care," the statement reported.
The Russian army also attacked Hrodivka village in Pokrovsk district, hitting residential areas and resulting in the deaths of three women aged 26, 32, and 77.
Additionally, Russia targeted Velyka Novosilka village in Volnovakha district, using two aerial guided bombs against civilians. A married couple aged 48 and 56 were wounded in their own home, according to the prosecutor's office.
"The 58-year-old man was injured in Zalizne, which came under shelling by the Russian army, likely with artillery. He was injured at his home during the attack and has been hospitalized," stated the prosecutor's office.
A pre-trial investigation into this violation of the laws and customs of war was initiated as part of criminal proceedings.
