Digi24 reported the information.
Ilie Bolojan signed a law passed by parliament that allows drones illegally present in Romanian airspace to be shot down, as well as a law concerning military missions and operations on Romanian territory during peacetime.
Work on the law began after a series of incidents in which Russian attack UAVs, used to strike the south of Ukraine’s Odesa region, entered Romanian territory. The law was finally approved by parliament in February 2025.
Romanian far-right parties challenged the law in the Constitutional Court, but lost.
- Nicușor Dan is winning Romania’s presidential election with 53.6% of the vote, defeating George Simion, who received 46.4%. Analysts say the result will help preserve regional stability and Romania’s pro-European course.
