Digi24 reported the information.

Romanian radar systems detected air targets in Ukrainian airspace near the border. As a result, Romania's General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations sent a RO-Alert message to residents of the northern part of Tulcea County warning them of the possibility of objects falling from the air and urging them to take care of their personal safety.

In addition, two Romanian F-16 fighter jets took to the skies to monitor the airspace. They did not detect any unauthorized incursions.

The alert lasted for approximately 90 minutes. Reports indicated that explosions from the Russian drone strikes in Ukraine were audible across the border in Romania, and a fire was visible from Romanian territory.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that inspections would be carried out in the affected area and assured that NATO allies would be kept informed of all developments.

  • On the evening of Tuesday, August 5, the Russian army launched strike drones at Ukrainian territory. Russia also carried out airstrikes on the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in civilian deaths.
