Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the information.

It noted that Russian troops attacked a suburb of Kherson in the afternoon, causing a residential building to catch fire. Rescuers arrived at the scene of the attack to extinguish the fire. They were attacked again by Russian drones.

As a result, one of the rescuers was injured and the SES equipment was damaged. In addition, the owner of a neighboring house was injured in the arm.

"Despite the threat to their own lives, the rescuers warned their colleagues about the attack so that they would not endanger themselves," the agency added.

Earlier this month, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the Russian forces have switched to the tactic of 'double-tap' strike to kill as many people as possible.

According to him, Russian forces are waiting for rescuers, medics and law enforcement officers to arrive at the site of the attack, and then launch another missile at the same place. In this way, invading Russian troops are trying to increase the number of victims.

"Their tactic was to fire in two waves. First, they attack residential buildings. Then, when our rescue services and the police arrive at the scene, a second strike takes place, during which our first responders and civilians are killed," said Syniehubov.

  • On April 25, the Russian army attacked the Cherkasy region with a missile. As a result, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged, and 6 people were injured.
