Red lines are blurring: military expert Zgurets on possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine

Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets believes that Macron's discussion has raised the prospects that Ukraine's defense can be implemented on a larger scale

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"Putin believed that he could draw some red lines, but these lines are actually blurring further and further, they practically do not exist anymore. Regarding the possibility of deploying NATO contingents to the territory of Ukraine in the future, we are talking about specific tasks that do not necessarily involve the use of military personnel on the contact line. But demining, control, interaction in cyber areas, all this may well be possible," explained Zgurets.

According to the military expert, Macron's discussion really raised the prospects that Ukraine's defense can be realized on many larger levels.

"And Putin is again trying to draw conventional lines, using the most resonant arguments - the use or threat of nuclear weapons. But the Chinese and Americans have made it clear to Putin that the use of tactical nuclear weapons is not a direction that Russia can rely on," Zgurets emphasized.
