He said this during a meeting with the sailors of the Arkhangelsk, reports The Moscow Times.

According to him, the participants may include not only the United States but also other countries that the Kremlin considers partners.

“This includes the People's Republic of China, India, Brazil, South Africa, all the BRICS countries. And many others, for example, including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,” Putin said.

He recalled that at the end of last year, a military cooperation agreement came into force, according to which each country is obliged to provide assistance to the other “by all available means” in the event of an attack.

  • Earlier, the U.S. Department of State said that negotiations on a lasting peace in Ukraine are possible only after a complete ceasefire.
  • In March, the leaders of the European Union adopted a communiqué outlining the principles by which peace talks should be conducted. They noted that there can be no negotiations that affect European security without European participation. The security of Ukraine, Europe, transatlantic and global security are interconnected.
