Putin conducts training of strategic nuclear deterrence forces

According to the Kremlin leader, Russia reaffirms ‘its principled position that the use of nuclear weapons is a last resort to ensure the security of the state’.

At the same time, Putin stressed that ‘it is the nuclear triad that continues to be a reliable guarantor of Russia's sovereignty and security’.

‘Given the growing geopolitical tensions, the emergence of new external threats and risks, it is important to have modern and constantly ready for combat use strategic forces,’ the Russian leader added.

• The head of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said that North Korea was sending its military and missiles to Russia in exchange for Moscow's technology for tactical nuclear weapons.
