Poland: NATO will respond firmly if Russia continues drone provocations
If Russia regularly sends drones into NATO countries’ territories, the Alliance will respond collectively and firmly
Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki stated this on Slawa TV.
‘We are dealing with yet another Russian provocation and another combat drone that entered Poland’s territory. Over two years ago, we had a missile incident. These are matters that, first of all, we officially protested to Moscow at the diplomatic level. Secondly, we are in contact not only across all Polish state structures regarding the strengthening of Poland’s air defense, but also with our allies — both the Ukrainians and our NATO partners,’ he said.
Bosacki added that such provocations must not be repeated, and Poland will do everything to prevent them in the future.
‘On the other hand, if Russia regularly sends drones into NATO countries’ territories, I can say with full confidence that NATO will respond collectively and firmly,’ he emphasized.
The Deputy Minister also answered a question about the purpose of the provocation. ‘It is testing our capabilities, an attempt to intimidate us. This is something Russians have always done throughout their history. They want to show: “Look, you are in danger; you are helping Ukraine, and through Poland goes the entire chain of aid to Ukraine, or 90 percent of it — think carefully, because this may be disadvantageous for you.” The Russians always operate on the principle of “divide and rule.” In this case, divide, try to sow discord — I’m talking about the Russians. They try to create tension between Poland and Ukraine,’ Bosacki concluded.
- If the world’s response to Russian provocations is too cautious, Russia will continue launching is drones.
