Over past year, Ukrainian drones attack more than 200 targets in Russia - Umerov
This year, the government has made record-breaking progress in Ukrainian defense, funding domestic production by more than $4 billion
Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov wrote about this in a column for Forbes.
Thus, in 2024, the Ministry of Defense alone contracted drones for more than UAH 21 billion and ammunition for another UAH 9 billion, the official said.
“Today, Ukrainian drones fly over 1,000 km, reaching Murmansk and the Volga region, destroying Russian oil refineries and airfields,” Umerov wrote.
“Ukraine was the first country in the world to introduce drone swarming technology. Over the past year alone, we have managed to destroy or damage more than 200 targets on enemy territory,” the minister added.
According to him, among the targets hit by Ukraine are Russian control centers, airfields, ships, air defense systems and locations of Russian military personnel.
“We have forced the enemy to relocate aircraft to airfields 250 kilometers from the border,” Umerov reminded.
In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces expelled Russian ships from military bases in Crimea.
Also, thanks to the Delta system, the Defense Forces destroyed Russian equipment worth more than $15 billion.
The day before, Umerov noted that Ukraine can now produce more than several million drones a year.
