133 skirmishes occur at Russian-Ukrainian front, third of them in Pokrovsk direction

On August 5, 133 combat clashes took place at the front. Russian troops focused heavily on the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 assaults

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, Russian troops launched seven missile strikes (with ten missiles), 50 airstrikes (including 64 guided aerial bombs), and 752 kamikaze drone attacks against Ukrainian positions and populated areas. They also carried out 4,816 attacks on Ukraine's positions and populated areas, 114 of them from MLRS.

Russia launched airstrikes on 25 settlements across Ukraine.

Yesterday, Ukraine's aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck two Russian UAV control points, two personnel concentration areas, and one more critical target.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops stayed active, resulting in five combat clashes. The fighting occurred around Vovchansk and Tykhe.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions seven times, focusing their efforts on Petropavlivka, Berestove, and Stelmakhivka.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled ten attacks near Makiivka, Terny, Nevske, and the Serebrianka Forest.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defense forces stopped 13 assaults near Ivano-Daryivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Pereizne, and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers halted 13 Russian attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses in the Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske districts of the Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, with air support, the Russian troops carried out 26 attacks near Pivnichne, Toretsk, and Niu York.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 Russian assaults. The Russian troops concentrated their efforts in Panteleimonivka, Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Novoselivka Persha, and Yasnobrodivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold the Russian troops back near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka, where the Russian troops attempted seven times to break through Ukrainian defenses.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian troops launched four assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vodyane and Rozdolne in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one attack in the direction of Robotyne, with no success for the Russian troops.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled six Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions.

On the border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed significantly, with no signs of the formation of offensive groups.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia maintains a military presence, shelling populated areas from Russian territory and conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities.

  • Over the past day, 124 combat clashes occurred at the front. Russian troops continue to attack in eleven directions, with the most activity in the Pokrovsk direction.
