Over 100 Russian soldiers reportedly killed in ATACMS strike on training ground – NewsWeek
Ukrainian troops struck a Russian training ground southwest of Mozhnyakivka, Luhansk region, possibly with four ATACMS, and killed 116 Russian soldiers
NewsWeek reported the information.
The video of the attack was first shared by volunteers of the OSINT project GeoConfirmed. The source said that the footage shows how "Ukrainian ATACMS strike, with 4 ATACMS, including one dud, hitting a Russian training area in Mozhnyakivka." Judging by the footage, the damage was "significant".
Newsweek was unable to independently verify when and where the footage was taken and contacted the Russian Defense Ministry for comment via email. The Kremlin has not commented on the attack.
An open-source intelligence group, OSINTtechnical, said the video shows Ukrainian forces striking a Russian training ground with three US-supplied M39 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles.
The account reported that at least one ATACMS struck directly at a group of over 100 Russian soldiers, subjecting them to hundreds of M74 APAM bombs. They shared a photo showing a group of soldiers gathered in the area before the strikes.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Kyiv recently struck a Russian military training ground about 80 kilometers behind the front line in the rear of the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.
"Geolocated footage published on May 1 indicates that Ukrainian forces struck a Russian training ground southwest of Mozhnyakivka, likely with four ATACMS, and reportedly killed 116 Russian personnel," ISW said.
