Over 100 North Korean troops killed in Kursk region, says South Korean intel
At least 100 North Korean soldiers fighting on the side of Russia have been killed and another 1,000 wounded in battles with Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region
South Korean lawmaker Lee Seong-kweun reported this, according to Reuters.
According to him, North Korean soldiers are suffering heavy losses due to their lack of experience in combat involving drones and unfamiliarity with the terrain.
The official explained that the discrepancy between the estimated number of killed soldiers and the figure provided by a U.S. military official, who reported several hundred casualties, is due to the relatively conservative analysis by the National Intelligence Service.
"There was a report that there have been at least 100 deaths and the injured are approaching 1,000," Lee Seong-kweun stated.
He added that there are signs North Korea is preparing for additional deployments, including intelligence showing the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, observing training exercises.
