Nepalese mercenaries flee Russian army en masse
Mercenaries from Nepal are fleeing the Russian occupation army. Among the reasons are huge losses in “meat assaults” and the commanders' cruel attitude
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) press service reports.
According to intelligence, the Russian invaders are looking for fugitives in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region, but usually to no avail.
“The escape of mercenaries from Nepal, assigned to the military unit 29328 of the Russian Armed Forces, was caused by huge losses in "meat assaults", the cruel attitude of Muscovite field commanders, including extrajudicial executions for refusing to comply with orders to go to certain death, as well as non-payment of promised money," the HUR noted.
“The leaders of the Russian motorized rifle military unit in their reports and reports to the top explain the desertion of the Nepalese with nonsense about the possible "departure to their native country due to the earthquake,” they added.
In reality, it is quite problematic to get from the occupied territories of the Luhansk region back to Nepal. In addition, Nepal can bring its citizens to justice for participating in hostilities against Ukraine as part of the Russian army.
“As a result, the desire to earn easy money turned into a trap for Nepalese mercenaries, and there is no safe way out of it,” the HUR added.
- According to British intelligence, since the start of “partial” mobilization in September 2022, Russia has convicted 7,400 soldiers suspected of desertion.
