Nearly half of Ukrainians suffer mental health issues due to war

According to the World Health Organization's report, the most common health issues include mental health problems (46%), psychiatric disorders (41%), and neurological conditions (39%).
Additionally, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) account for 84% of all deaths in Ukraine, with key barriers to treatment being limited access to healthcare services and high medication costs.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, WHO has documented over 2,254 attacks on healthcare facilities across Ukraine.
- In 2025, training in mental health services under the WHO program will become mandatory for all medical workers in Ukraine.
