Karol Nawrocki is only Pole on Putin’s 'enemies list' — historian
Karol Nawrocki is the only Polish politician on the list of criminals who will be prosecuted by Russia if Poland falls within its sphere of influence
Polish historian Andrzej Nowak stated this in an interview with Espreso.
"Karol Nawrocki is the only Polish politician on the list of criminals compiled by Vladimir Putin - a list of enemies of the Russian Empire who would face legal persecution by it if they fell under its jurisdiction. In essence, Vladimir Putin is targeting him, and that is the clearest proof of Nawrocki’s stance on Russian imperialism and, accordingly, on the role of Ukraine," he noted.
In Nowak's opinion, propagandist claims that someone is currently against Ukraine’s NATO membership are purely propaganda, especially given that Ukraine simply cannot join NATO at this time due to fundamental reasons.
"The most important test of Karol Nawrocki’s position will be whether he supports military cooperation with Ukraine and Polish military aid to Ukraine — and I have no doubt he will. In the future, when Ukraine wins the war against Russia, I will be the first to advise President Nawrocki to firmly follow the path of the great Polish president Lech Kaczyński," the historian concluded.
On Sunday, June 1, Poland held the second round of its presidential election. The winner was Karol Nawrocki, the candidate from the Law and Justice party. The margin between him and his opponent, Rafal Trzaskowski from the Civic Platform, was less than 2%. The current Polish leader, Andrzej Duda, congratulated his successor.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated Karol Nawrocki on his election victory.
On June 3, the newly elected President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, thanked President Zelenskyy on his social media page X for his congratulations, expressing hope for continued cooperation between the two countries.
