Ukrainian MP Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze suggested that the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink does not necessarily signal a reduction in U.S. interest in Ukraine

She expressed this opinion during a broadcast on Espreso.

"This (the resignation of Bridget Brink – ed.) could be a worrying signal, and we will ultimately understand whether the United States is ready to promptly propose and submit a new candidate for approval to be appointed ambassador here. That will be, in fact, the key indicator of this story. But beyond that, it may not necessarily be about reducing interest in Ukraine, but rather a shift of key powers away from traditional diplomacy.

Because we see that, in reality, it's not the U.S. ambassador or the U.S. embassy leading the dialogue with the Putin administration. We see the special envoy Witkoff, and apparently also a special envoy for Ukraine, Mr. Kellogg, who is expected to deal more with Ukraine," she said.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze also suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump may use different methods of engagement with Ukraine, rather than traditional diplomatic ones.

"And I suspect that such unconventional, positional ways of interaction – not strictly through diplomatic channels, those defined, adopted, and coordinated by all internal institutions – will likely be used by Trump. This is also not the best way for us to interact, because it undermines institutional analysis that can be provided by the ambassador, and how the embassy functions, which also gives feedback to the capital from where the ambassador was appointed. And all this information, flowing from Ukraine through the embassy and from the State Department to Ukraine and to the Ukrainian government, may simply be disregarded," the Ukrainian MP said.

  • On April 10, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink announced her early resignation.
  • On April 11, it was reported that U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink had submitted her resignation amid growing political differences with President Donald Trump’s administration.
