Trump explained that she had sent a personal letter to Putin on August 17, ahead of the Alaska summit, urging peace and care for children affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“My representative has been working directly with Putin's team to ensure the safe reunification of children with their families between Russia and Ukraine. In fact, eight children have been rejoined with their families during the past 24 hours,” she said.
- On August 17, it became known that on the eve of the summit in Alaska, Melania Trump sent a personal letter to Vladimir Putin, in which she called for peace and care for the future of children.
