Macron destroys NATO countries' red lines - military expert Zgurets

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"France is not actually a leader in terms of arms supplies to Ukraine, in particular, 30,000 ammunition is a small amount compared to what France has, but Macron is currently acting as a flag bearer of an extremely important idea. He is really destroying the red lines that existed in many European and NATO countries. They say our military will not operate on the territory of Ukraine," Zgurets said.

According to the military expert, it is extremely important that Macron's initiative remains in the information space. 

"Formally, we are not asking for this, but we understand that the process of foreign military participation in joint ventures, equipment repair, computer security, training of our military, demining is something that can be done through the support of the military of other countries. There is an interest in keeping Macron's initiative in the information space because it is extremely important for spreading the format of our security and fighting the enemy," Zgurets emphasized.

• On February 26, about 20 European leaders met in Paris to discuss the threats posed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed them.
• After the conference, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that sending Western ground troops to fight Russian aggression should not be ruled out in the future.
• Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico confirmed that some NATO and EU member states are allegedly discussing the possibility of sending their troops to Ukraine after signing bilateral agreements with Kyiv.
• NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the leaders of the Alliance stated that no general decision to send troops to Ukraine had been made, while Russia called such a move a declaration of war.
• On February 29, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said that Western leaders should not rule out the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine.
• On March 4, Macron said that he would not send troops to Ukraine in the near future, but opened a debate on the matter.
• French President Emmanuel Macron urged the allies not to be "cowards" regarding Ukraine and to step up. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius responded to his call.
