Lithuanian Foreign Ministry summons Russian envoy over April 13 attack on Ukraine's Sumy
The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry summoned Russia's envoy in Vilnius over the April 13 ballistic missile strike on Ukraine's Sumy that killed and injured dozens of civilians, including children
This is stated in a post by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry on social media platform X.
"After today’s terror attack by Russia against Sumy, we have summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius. Those behind this attack will not escape justice. Responsibility is also shared by everyone working for Kremlin’s criminal regime, including Russian diplomats," the Lithuanian MFA said on April 13.
Later, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stated that he had called on the European Union to adopt the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, which would include restrictions on Russian LNG, Rosatom, the shadow fleet, and specific individuals.
Budrys added that Putin’s barbaric war crime against the residents of Sumy is yet another insult to efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire.
- On Sunday, April 13, U.S. President Donald Trump responded to the Russian strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy, which killed at least 34 people, calling it horrible.
