Lithuania reports Russian troop reduction in Kaliningrad amid Ukraine's offensive in Kursk region
Lithuania has recorded a decrease in Russian ground troops due to the successful actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation
Lithuanian Army Commander Raimundas Vaikšnoras stated this, Delfi reports.
‘As soon as the war in Ukraine began, we noticed that a lot of equipment and personnel were transferred from Kaliningrad. Only they have returned after rotation, and now we can see that there is a sufficient reduction, at least of the ground forces,’ he said.
At the same time, the Lithuanian army commander stressed that one should not relax, as the Kremlin is trying to control the Baltic Sea region.
‘But let's not fool ourselves, the so-called A2/AD system, which provides air cover, is strong. And nothing has changed there. They are still trying to control the Baltic Sea, they are still trying to control this region, so we also have to remain vigilant and monitor what is happening there,’ Vaikšnoras added.
- On August 21, Ukrainian soldiers managed to replenish the exchange fund with more than 10 Russian invaders: among the chevrons was Kadyrov's Akhmat unit.
