Kursk operation to affect entire front line in some time - military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, Defense Express CEO and military expert, believes that the Ukrainian army’s operations in the Kursk region are geared towards the fall season and will form a different agenda on the battlefield
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"As for the events in the Kursk region, it seems that the Russian army is trying to block the flanks and frontal advances to Kursk and Kurchatov. On the other hand, we need to create more threats that will force Russia to move reserves there. Perhaps the issue is that the situation in the Kursk region will not be the only active area where the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be operating now. Thus, first of all, it is necessary that the invaders redeploy their forces, which are currently quite limited," the military expert noted.
According to him, the Russian army is currently concentrating all its efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, advancing toward the Hrodivka-Novohrodivka defense line. While this defense line is prepared, Russia's advantage in manpower, equipment, and artillery significantly impacts the front line.
"The operation related to the Kursk direction, and possibly to some other direction, should reduce the enemy's advance to some extent. So far, this is not happening. But, in my opinion, over time, the impact of the Kursk operation should affect the entire front line. Perhaps it will be not tomorrow, but in a month, because these are actions that are focused on the fall period. And the events in Kursk will shape a different agenda on the battlefield. However, I would like to note that there are both benefits and risks of this operation," summarized Serhiy Zgurets.
