Kremlin calls August 28 strikes on Kyiv successful, says Russia still interested in talks
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called Russia's August 28 strikes on Kyiv successful, adding that Moscow is interested in a diplomatic settlement
He made the statements at a briefing, TASS reports.
Peskov has once again claimed that Russia attacks only military targets.
"The special military operation (as the Kremlin calls Russia's unprovoked war against Ukraine - ed.) continues... The Russian Armed Forces are also carrying out their tasks. They, as has been stated, continue to strike objects of military and quasi-military infrastructure," the Kremlin representative said in response to journalists' requests to comment on the massive attack on Kyiv.
At the same time, Putin's spokesman has said that Russia is supposedly ready for further dialogue with Ukraine.
"The strikes are successful, targets are being destroyed. The special military operation continues. At the same time, Russia maintains its interest in continuing the negotiation process, so that by political-diplomatic means we achieve the goals set before us," Peskov claimed.
On the night of August 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles, as a result of which more than fifteen people were killed in Kyiv, including children. The building of the EU delegation, editorial offices of Ukrainian media, a bookstore and other exclusively civilian targets were damaged.
