Chechen leader Kadyrov blames Ukraine for drone attack on police facility in Grozny
On December 12, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov claimed that Ukraine carried out a drone strike targeting the barracks of a special police regiment in Grozny
Kadyrov shared this claim on Telegram.
He stated that at 12:55 a.m., a drone was allegedly shot down over the barracks of the Akhmat Kadyrov special police regiment in Grozny. According to him, no one was seriously hurt, and four guardsmen reportedly sustained minor injuries.
"The drone exploded in mid-air, damaging the roof and breaking windows. Debris caused a small fire, which was quickly extinguished. The building itself wasn’t seriously affected," his post said.
Kadyrov blamed Ukraine for the attack.
Russian Defense Ministry's report
The Russian Defense Ministry reported drone attacks on four regions.
According to the ministry, Russian air defenses destroyed or intercepted four drones in the Kursk region, one in Chechnya, three in North Ossetia-Alania, and eight in Crimea, which remains under Russian occupation.
- On October 29, Kadyrov claimed a strike on the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes. Defense Express speculated that the incident might stem from internal conflicts within Russia.
- On December 4, Kadyrov claimed a Ukrainian drone hit central Grozny, targeting the roof of the Akhmat Kadyrov Special Police Regiment building.
