Italian Ariston resumes business in Russia, saying Putin has given back its Russian unit
The Italian company Ariston, a manufacturer of water heaters and heating equipment, is officially returning to Russia
This was reported by Ariston Group.
Ariston Group, a global leader in sustainable thermal comfort solutions, announced that on March 26, 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree No. 176, restoring Ariston Holding N.V.'s ownership and full control over its Russian subsidiary, Ariston LLC "Ariston Thermo Rus."
Putin reversed the previous decision to transfer Ariston’s assets to Gazprom Bytovie Sistemy (a subsidiary of the Gazprom Group).
Ariston has been operating in Russia for nearly 50 years and manages a factory in the Leningrad region.
Ariston Group’s Executive Chairman Paolo Merloni stated that the company is "pleased with the decision of the Russian authorities" and intends to resume operations while "complying with sanctions."
“We are very pleased with the decision of the Russian authorities to reinstate Ariston Group as the owner and manager of our Russian subsidiary. We believe it reflects an appreciation for decades of responsible investments and management, our dedication to over 300 Russian employees, and the ongoing operations of the company's local business. We intend to resume activities with our Russian local leadership, adhering fully to existing sanctions, and continue our legacy in the country,” he said.
