Russia advances in Toretsk, Chasiv Yar areas: ISW assesses frontline situation
Invading Russian army persists in attacking the Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions, advancing near Toretsk and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region
The Institute for the Study of War reports.
It is noted that Russian forces have recently made minor advances near Chasiv Yar amid ongoing fighting in the area. Geolocation footage released on July 30 shows that Russian armored vehicles advanced through the Siverskyi Donets Canal, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian vehicle before it advanced further on the western bank of the canal.
The report stated that on July 29 and 30, Russian forces also continued ground attacks north of Chasiv Yar near Hryhorivka and Kalynivka, northeast of Chasiv Yar near Bohdanivka, and southeast of Chasiv Yar near Klishchiivka.
In addition, the invading Russian forces advanced near Toretsk amid ongoing offensive operations in the area.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the invades had captured Pivdenne, and propagandists wrote that troops had also advanced within New York and near Druzhba, Zalizne, and Pivdenne. However, ISW found no evidence to support these claims.
According to analysts, on July 29 and 30, Russian troops continued ground attacks near Druzhba, Pivnichne, Zalizne, Nyzhnyk, and Toretsk.
- Since the beginning of the day on July 30, 108 combat clashes took place on the frontline. Russia conducted 40 assault and offensive actions in the Pokrovsk sector.
