IAEA Director General to visit Ukraine, may inspect Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is set to visit Ukraine, amidst concerns of repeated sabotage at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant by Russian forces

Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, revealed the information on the United News telethon.

He stated, "Grossi will come to Ukraine shortly, possibly visiting the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The world is closely watching. The presence of Russians poses a constant threat."

The last visit by the IAEA head to Ukraine occurred in June 2023.

Halushchenko expressed growing concerns about the deteriorating situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Although Russian forces permitted expert access on the third attempt, he noted, "this doesn't change the overall picture."
