Ukrainian intel identifies Russian officer behind Okhmatdyt hospital strike
On the anniversary of the Russian strike on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, Ukraine's intelligence published the personal data of the Russian serviceman who was responsible for organizing the attack
Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate reported the information.
According to intelligence, Denis Sheinov, head of the special engineering service of the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment in the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division, was involved in the strike.
This unit, according to Ukrainian intelligence, took direct part in the attack on the hospital. Sheinov was responsible for the technical preparation of Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles used by strategic bombers.
Intelligence reports that Sheinov was born on January 30, 1978, in Saratov. He graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Engineering Command School of Missile Forces. In 2018, he was in Syria, where he carried out so-called “special tasks.”
Sheinov has received several medals, including For Military Valor (2nd class, 2000), For Distinction in Military Service (1st class, 2015), and Participant in the Military Operation in Syria (2019).
He is married to Elena Shabalova, born April 30, 1976. They have a son and a daughter.
