How Russian Pantsir, whose location was uncovered six months ago, was targeted
The Ukrainian Defense Forces now have more opportunities to directly reach targets within the Russian Federation
The official channel of the 3rd Operational Brigade Spartan of the National Guard of Ukraine released footage of their aerial reconnaissance in the Kharkiv sector, where Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile systems were located, Defense Express reports. This enabled a missile unit of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to destroy two vehicles of the Russian occupation forces.
The story is particularly intriguing because Ukrainian defenders managed to strike the vehicle near the Russian city of Belgorod, likely destroying it on June 20. Open sources had earlier reported one of the Pantsirs being located near Belgorod, with another covering Russian advances on Lyptsi in the Kharkiv region.
The destruction of one Pantsir near Belgorod was initially reported by the Dnipro | OSINT with Harbuz channel. The vehicle's location was revealed earlier this year when Russians posted footage of its operation on the city's outskirts, allowing OSINT specialists to pinpoint its position.
For nearly six months, the Russian troops had been using almost the same position for their MLRS to repel Ukrainian missile and drone attacks. The situation changed when the US and other countries finally permitted their weapons to be fired on Russian territory.
Although there are still range restrictions (such as the US banning the use of their weapons beyond 100 km), the Ukrainian Defense Forces now have greater opportunities to destroy Russian occupation forces' weapons.
