How destruction of Russian Tu22M3 affects use of aviation from south: Air Force spokesman explains

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Illia Yevlash says that after the downing of the Tu22M3, the number of Russian strategic aircraft in the Black Sea has decreased

He said this on Espreso.

"Russia has been fighting to its fullest capacity for a long time. The only thing left in its arsenal is the use of nuclear weapons. The enemy is using all available types of missiles and carriers for them, strategic and tactical aviation. It uses hypersonic weapons such as Zircon and Kinzhal. It is difficult to say how much more. Currently, the contingent present on the territory of Ukraine is quite serious. That is, it is difficult for the Russians to do more," Yevlash said.

According to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, after the destruction of the Russian Tu22M3, the use of enemy strategic aircraft in the Black Sea has decreased.

"Of course, Russia still has various carriers. And it cannot be said that they will give up on continuing missile attacks on our infrastructure. However, they need to rethink their actions 10 times before sending another aircraft into the Black and Azov Seas. In addition, we have been quite successful in destroying radar stations that have been targeting our country. That is why the use of aviation from the south of Ukraine has decreased somewhat recently," emphasized Yevlash.
