Heat is on in Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian forces repel 7 attacks, 8 battles ongoing – AFU General Staff report

Since the start of May 28, 45 combat clashes have erupted at the front. The Pokrovsk direction is the most intense, with the Defense Forces repelling 7 enemy attacks and 8 more clashes ongoing

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Yesterday, May 27, saw 115 combat clashes. The enemy hit Ukrainian positions and populated areas with two missile strikes, 61 airstrikes, 1,050 kamikaze drone strikes, and over four thousand attacks from various weapons, including 138 from MLRS.

Over the past day, our Air Force and missile and artillery units targeted 24 areas of enemy personnel concentration and two Russian artillery systems.

Today, since the beginning of the day, there have been 45 combat clashes. Russian forces launched seven airstrikes, 656 attacks on Ukrainian positions, and used 43 kamikaze drones for strikes.

Frontline situation 

Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers haven't launched assaults in the Kharkiv direction. Our units are bolstering defense and keeping the Russian invaders under fire control.

In the Kupyansk direction, seven clashes have already occurred. Six attacks in the Petropavlivka, Druzhelyubivka, and Nevske areas were repelled. Another combat clash is ongoing in the Nevske district.

In the Lyman direction, five enemy attacks are happening in the Terny, Torske, and Bilohorivka areas. Our defenders successfully repelled one assault each in Torske and Bilohorivka. No positions were lost.

The enemy is also active in the Siversk direction. Ukrainian soldiers repelled one attack, with four more ongoing. The situation remains under control.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy has attempted to improve their tactical position four times today. Assault actions are near Hryhorivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka. Three enemy advances were successfully repelled by Defense Forces units. A military clash is ongoing in the Andriivka area. No positions were lost, and the situation is under control.

The most intense fighting remains in the Pokrovsk direction, with eight military clashes ongoing. Seven attacks were repelled near Novooleksandrivka, Prohres, and Novoselivka Persha. Our Defense Forces are working hard to stabilize the situation there.

In the Kurakhove direction, one attack near Kostyantynivka has been repelled. The battle continues in the Vodyane district, where the enemy is trying to push our defenders out with heavy fire. Our units are making every effort to hold the line.

Since the start of the day, our soldiers have been repelling an attack in the Rozdolne area in the Vremivka direction. The situation remains under control.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy made three failed attempts to push our soldiers away from Krynky.

In other directions, the situation remains largely unchanged.

  • On May 27, the Defense Forces destroyed dozens of enemy equipment units and 1,460 Russian troops on the front.
