Forget elections. Stabilize front
Let’s be honest, many politicians – both new and old, as well as those hoping to get into politics – are already focused on elections
They’re focused on the elections, already preparing, with the only question being, “Will the elections happen in spring or fall 2025?” They’re running around, hustling, gathering information, making deals, recruiting military personnel, bloggers, and public figures, and setting up headquarters. It's all in vain.
These people cling to the false hope that Trump will broker a deal, everyone will come to an agreement, and the fighting will stop. Then, there will be elections. But the flaw in this logic lies in the very first assumption.
There won’t be any negotiations until the front is stabilized. As long as the Russians are advancing, Putin has no reason to negotiate. He’ll keep stalling, buying time, and letting his troops push forward. Only when the front stops moving, when he sees he’s not achieving his goals, might he consider negotiations.
Maybe. But there’s no guarantee he will. And as long as the front keeps shifting and our forces are retreating, forget about the elections. What we need now is for every politician to prioritize winning the war over winning the elections. Without that, nothing else matters.
At this moment, all government efforts must focus on defending Pokrovsk and stabilizing the front. If we fail, and Russia takes Pokrovsk, we won’t get negotiations or elections — only more fighting, this time in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Forget the elections. Stabilize the front. And, as General Valerii Zaluzhnyi said, start wanting victory in the war more than victory in the elections. That’s when things will begin to change.
