This was reported by Russian media, including the state-run outlet RIA Novosti.

Several Russian news Telegram channels began spreading information about the explosion that took place in the Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region.

According to local residents, the sounds of explosions were heard from the direction of the military unit. The governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeyev, confirmed the explosion and stated that the necessary services were working on-site.

It later became known that residents of the Barosovo settlement are being evacuated to schools in the neighboring Kirzhach district after the explosion. The district administration also reported that an evacuation is taking place in the settlement of Mirny.

As of 5:20 p.m., the Russian Unified System for Emergency Prevention and Response announced that a state of emergency had been declared in the Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region.

Andrii Kovalenko, the head of Ukraine's Center for Counteracting Disinformation, noted that there had been a detonation at the 51st GRAU arsenal in Russia, which holds about 105,000 tons of weapons.

"It stores significant supplies of artillery shells for various types of missiles, including Iskander, Tochka-U, Kinzhal, ammunition for the Pantsir-S1, S-300, S-400 complexes, as well as Grad, Smerch, Uragan," the report said.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the fire in the military base was probably caused by a violation of safety rules. No one was injured. By order of Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, a commission was set up to investigate the incident, and the culprits are promised to be punished.

  • On the night of March 22–23, reports emerged of an alleged drone attack on Russian regions. In particular, explosions were heard in Volgograd, with claims that drones targeted the local oil refinery.
