Trump quits when problems become too difficult, says expert Krayev
U.S. President Donald Trump always, as a politician, chooses the path of least resistance—if something requires extra effort, he simply will not do it
This was stated by Oleksandr Krayev, an expert from the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism," during an interview on Espreso.
"Trump is not abandoning Ukraine. He is abandoning himself first and foremost. To undermine the entire support front, everything being done for our aid in the U.S., Europe, and non-European partners—you need to work strategically and diligently. Trump is not like that. What he does is not an attempt to abandon Ukraine, but rather an attempt to do nothing," he said.
According to the expert, Trump has always, both during his first term and now, taken the path of least resistance.
"As soon as he feels that some problem is difficult or impossible to solve—he just stops dealing with it. His approach is: if something requires more than one brain cell, he won’t make others strain theirs. He had the same attitude toward education, business, and women. As soon as something became difficult, he either ended the relationship, filed for divorce, or did something worse," Krayev believes.
The expert added that this is Trump's attitude: "If something requires extra effort, he won't do it. He saw that helping Ukraine is hard, and pressuring Russia is hard—and he does not like to do either."
- On May 19, U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine will immediately begin negotiations on a ceasefire and the end of the war. The U.S. president also spoke with Zelenskyy.
