European Council president visits Ukraine's Uzhhorod for talks with Zelenskyy

Costa arrived in Uzhhorod on September 5, where he was welcomed by Mathernová. “Many important leaders gather in Uzhhorod. It is going to be very busy here today. I am delighted to welcome President of the European Council António Costa in Zakarpatia,” the EU ambassador said.

She added that together with President Zelenskyy they would join national, regional, and local leaders at the Congress of Regional Authorities to honor the resilience of Ukrainian communities and work on their recovery and future within the EU.

As Ukrinform reported, Zelenskyy has already met with Costa. “I would like to thank Mr. President for being here today to support Ukraine. We know how busy your schedule is, yet you found the time to stand with Ukraine, and I am grateful that you came to this region in particular,” Zelenskyy said.
