Europe ready to make own decisions, no need to think that we can't cope without US - Kuleba
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Europe is ready to make its own big decisions and refuted the idea that Ukraine will not cope without US support
He said this at the World Economic Forum in Davos, answering whether Europe will take the lead and increase the level of assistance to Ukraine if the US Congress does not agree on a new support package for Kyiv.
Kuleba said that he believes Europe is ready to make its own significant decisions, despite the debate that is currently taking place in the United States.
"This is my opinion, and I am ready to even discuss it with anyone who does not believe in it. I believe that they (Europe - ed.) feel strong, they feel that they are ready for big decisions, not to follow the big decisions that the US approves," he said.
According to him, one should not think that Ukraine "will not cope, will fall, will not survive" without the United States.
At the same time, Ukraine's top diplomat stressed that the war is on the European continent. Therefore, Ukraine must stand firm, because after its defeat, another European country could be attacked by Russia.
"We need to build confidence in Europe that we can do it. I think we are now moving in this direction," Kuleba concluded.
