EU transfers €1 billion of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine
Ukraine receives the second tranche of €1 billion from the European Union, secured by proceeds from frozen Russian assets

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported the information.
The funds are to be used for priority state budget expenditures. According to Shmyhal, a total of €4 billion has already been provided to Ukraine by European partners at the initiative of the G7.
“Frozen Russian assets should work in favor of our country. And we will work to confiscate them in full and use them to rebuild Ukraine,” the Prime Minister added.
- In March, Canada transferred C$2.5 billion (about $1.7 billion) to Ukraine, secured by the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
