Ukrinform reported the information.

Von der Leyen emphasized that China's support for Moscow was creating a high level of instability and danger for Europe.

She stated that it could be said China was, in effect, aiding the development of Russia's war economy, which the EU could not accept. She also reiterated that she had always maintained China's continued involvement in Putin's war would be a determining factor for the future of EU-China relations.

At the same time, the President of the European Commission stressed that Beijing must "unequivocally condemn Russia's blatant violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internationally recognized borders, and act accordingly" if it stands for defending a rule-based international order.

  • Earlier, CNN reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a senior EU diplomat that China cannot accept Russia’s defeat in the war in Ukraine, as this would allow the U.S. to focus solely on Beijing.
