
Drone coalition secures over €2 billion in partner support over one year – Ukraine's Defense Ministry
Over the past year, the Drone Coalition initiative has received over €2 billion in support from international partners. The project was created to supply Ukraine with drones and strengthen its defense industry
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
The Drone Coalition was launched in February 2024 during the 19th Ramstein-format meeting, initiated by Latvia and Ukraine. Its goal is to equip Ukraine’s Defense Forces with drones while bolstering the defense industries of Ukraine and its partner nations.
The Coalition’s main objective is to secure Ukraine's long-term technological advantage over Russia.
Over the year, the initiative has received over €2 billion in partner support, accelerating the development of advanced unmanned technologies and improving Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
“This year, the Drone Coalition has brought us closer to achieving asymmetric superiority over Russian forces on the battlefield. The dedication of partner countries throughout this initiative demonstrates both principle and leadership, as well as their commitment to increasing the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ operational success with these drones,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization.
- Currently, the Coalition is coordinated by Latvia and the United Kingdom. In addition, 15 more countries have joined: Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, and Sweden.
