“Part of the gas plant’s infrastructure was damaged. A fire broke out in one of the workshops following a UAV strike,” Solntsev wrote on his Telegram channel.

Following the night strike, the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant “temporarily suspended the intake of raw gas” from Kazakhstan’s Karachaganak field, the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy reported.

The plant, owned by Gazprom, is the world’s largest gas chemical complex with a processing capacity of 37.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It is located about 1,500 kilometers from the front line.
