UK screening of film about Ukraine war raises over $25,000 for AFU
The capital of Wales, Cardiff, hosted a screening of the documentary short film Culture VS War, a concert by the Ukrainian band Antytila, and a charity auction that raised more than $24,700 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reports on June 4.
The Ukrainian band Antytila visited the UK with the national project Culture vs War. The event was a continuation of a series of more than 120 meetings around the world previously organised by the association Watch Ukrainian!
The guests of the event were shown a documentary novelty film starring the musicians of Antytila. The artists also gave an acoustic performance and held a charity auction for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The event raised more than £20,000 ($24.7 thousand).
"Hundreds of people filled the hall, including many foreigners who are ready to continue supporting us. The key is to speak to them frankly and sincerely, and draw their attention to what is crucial for future victory! Culture shapes behavior; it is a powerful tool that we must use in this fight," the musicians shared.
The next event of the project will take place on June 5th in Birmingham at the Forum Birmingham. It is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
