He stated this in an interview with Kyodo.
"Our army lacks the strength to do that. That is true," Zelenskyy commented on the return of temporarily occupied territories, including Crimea.
"We do have to find diplomatic solutions," the president added, emphasizing that this path can only be considered when "we know we are strong enough" to prevent Russia from launching new aggression against Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader stated that the war has entered a "complicated period."
- Zelenskyy suggested in an interview with the British channel Sky News that he would be willing to agree to a ceasefire deal without the temporarily occupied territories in exchange for NATO membership, to later reclaim them "through diplomatic means." At the same time, the temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine will never be recognized as Russian under any circumstances.
- Zelenskyy emphasized, "But the invitation (to NATO) must be extended to Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders."
- Ukraine’s president stated that Ukraine will join NATO only as one country, complete with all its territories.
